Sandy, OR
Project Type: K-12 and Higher Education
This was a new construction and complete mechanical project that Oregon Cascade performed. With delays in earth moving caused by weather and steel procurement, the project got off on a late start. Despite this, end dates were not changed — durations were shortened instead. This required us to increase manpower so we could work in all areas of the project simultaneously. We also took the lead on BIM coordination, which was very extensive in the startup portions of the project, allowing us to take advantage of our offsite fabrication shop to prefab multiple systems, shortening field installation times to help get the job back on schedule. As part of the construction, radiant panels were installed in all classroom wings and we were able to save the owner quite a bit in piping, insulation, and controls by piping the panels in tandem groups that could be controlled by one control valve.
